RESCUED

You matter. Your story matters. Your rescue matters.

Her best friend's husband lost his job and there wasn't money for Christmas gifts for their 18-month old daughter. She and her boyfriend decided to help. They got a wish list from mom and went shopping. Clothes, pj's, shoes, and the sweetest little toy. A toy their daughter hasn't stopped playing with yet.
One of the ways we live out our mission of rescue is through our partnerships with local non-profits and missionaries. We have a family member serving as a missionary with Pioneer Bible Translators. Their vision is to see transformed lives through God’s Word in every language. There are 180 million people in more than 2,000 languages who are Bibleless. We are overwhelmed by this generosity. Many times it’s much easier for us to meet the needs of others then to ask for our needs to be met. Here is the cool thing about how God moved in this; we took a small amount of money, which was set aside to bring hope for another TCAL family, and God returned that 10 fold! For us this is a reminder that we are free to focus on the needs of others, confident that God will always meet our needs along the way. Live generously!
Sometimes life gives you the unexpected. Soon after this little one was born, she ended up in the hospital fighting an infection. Hospital bills, time away from work, and the exhaustion of a sick newborn added up. When the gift came in from our generous TCAL family member with instructions to #GIVEHOPE to families this Christmas, we knew this brand new family of three needed a little extra helping of hope. Even in our unexpected, we can always expect Emmanuel to be with us.
They were late. By an hour. We can all relate, right? We have a schedule, a plan, and a place we've got to be right on time. And then somehow, someway, we miss it. But on this day, they were late for a place and experienced the purpose. The car pulled into their driveway just as they were pulling out. Had they been on time? They'd have missed the gift. An amazing gift provided because one generous TCALer gave from their abundance asking us to GIVE HOPE to others this season. They were late for a place but right on time for God's provision. Merry Christmas to these two amazing sisters & foster moms and their children!
I can be pretty shy and quiet. Because of that, other than asking for prayer, I tend to keep to myself when I’m struggling. In my mind, I know everyone goes through hard times so I try not to bother others with the things I’m going through, especially financially. This year the financial struggle has taken a new turn, leaving it very difficult to stay on top of financial obligations. It’s so hard not to stress out, but what hits me the hardest is seeing my mom, who is 75 yrs young, stressing out. I want to do the best I can to take care of her and help her live a more comfortable life, the way she’s always worked to take care of me. When I received my gift, I was speechless. Tears quickly ran down my face because the blessing came right on time. One truth that I remind myself of often is that no matter the obstacle, God has always taken care of my mom and I. Times have been extremely hard, but we have never been without. He is a provider in every way. He blesses us daily, and because of how good He is, my mom and I can in turn do our best to be a blessing to others.
A TCAL family member called. One of her 8 to 15 needed help. A single mom and her son, still grieving the death of their husband and father two years ago, had taken in two-year-old twin boys as an emergency foster placement and they needed groceries. Immediately after we hung up the phone, a notification from Facebook messenger was waiting. "Hey, do you know anyone who needs groceries?' Our reply? "You won't believe this but we JUST got a call for a family asking for groceries!" Blown away by the timing, this family offered to help with anything else they needed. In a matter of 20 minutes, one TCAL family was out shopping for winter coats, clothes, and groceries while another TCAL family member was calling the foster mom to tell her, "You don't have to worry! Groceries and clothes are on the way!" Of course, we wanted in on the #GIVEHOPE fun too so we matched the amount our TCAL family gave! If you ever have that feeling, a nagging in your spirit, saying just ASK if they know someone we can help, DO IT! Don't wait. We all witnessed God's perfect timing and the JOY we found in obeying the Spirit's prompting!
One of our group’s member's mother lives in an assisted living and memory care facility. We know this has been an awful time for families with loved ones in these communities. Our CG decided to #GIVEHOPE to the residents! We delivered socks, candy, playing cards, word finds, and stockings to the 72 residents!" When we heard this story, we decided to help too. The CG member can only see her mother once a month and they both have to test negative for COVID before they meet. Those tests are an out of pocket expense. TCAL gave mother and daughter a month's meeting for free.
Mansfield Mission is one of our ministry partners. We love working with ministries in our community! Last week, they called saying they short some hams to give away to families this season. So many families are in need this year. At TCAL, we believe in being radically generous to others because God has been radically generous with us. and that's what we did. We bought almost double the hams they needed! TCAL can give because YOU give! When you give to us, you give to others in our community too. THANK YOU for giving!
