Hurricane Laura devastated Sulphur, LA in the Lake Charles area. Then tropical storm Beta washed away the beginning work of their recovery. The area of Lake Charles is home to 80,000 people. Some of them have barely recovered from Hurricane Ike and now this. One of our church plant partners, Sulphur Community Church, needs some urgent help.
We can help. You can help.
We want you to pray with us for this church plant and their pastor, Blake Forman, who is being God’s hands and feet to their community. Pray as we go to help, God’s love will be seen by many people in the community. Our God who created each of those 80,000 people in His image and who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Together, we ask Him for peace, comfort, love, patience, provision, and protection. Lord, protect them from those who seek to harm through looting and from additional storm damage.
Our disaster relief funds will help provide immediate financial rescue to Sulfur Community Church and so many families around them they are serving. You can give here. You can find a list of specific items to donate below.
This coming Friday – Sunday, (October 2-4) we are gathering a TCAL Response Team to go and help Sulphur Community Church with urgent needs such as re-tarping roofs, using chainsaws to remove fallen trees blocking entrances to homes, clean up for families to be able to enter their homes, and general disaster clean up.
